Week4:  Rounding odd/even numbers

 

October:

 Addition and Subtraction

Week 1:  Continue rounding/ Introduce algebraic symbols

 

Week 2:  Adding with and without regrouping

 

Week 3:  Subtracting with and without regrouping

 

Week 4:  Subtracting with and without regrouping/Estimating (check for reasonableness)

 

November:

Money and Time

Week1:  Value of money/adding and subtracting money

 

Week 2:  Word Problems with money

 

Week 3&4:  Elapsed time/ Calendars/ Estimating (check for reasonableness)

 

 

December:

 Multiplication

Week 1:  Review all basic multiplication facts ( use different models)

 

Week 2:  Properties/ Multiples of 10, 100, 1,000

 

Week 3/4:  Multiply 2 digit by 1 digit numbers & Estimation (check for reasonableness)

 

January:

Multiplication (continued) & Division

Week 1:  Multiplication of 2 by 2 digit numbers

 

Week 2:  Basic division ideas and facts

 

Week 3:  Dividing with multiples of 10, 100, 1,000

 

Week 4:  Long division steps and interpreting remainders/ Input-Output tables

 

February:

 Fractions

Week 1:  Understanding fractions (use sets, no lines)
